Though we couldn't get into the zoo this year we still enjoyed ourselves.

We had our riceball picnic, and while everyone was finishing up the students ran around a bit.

Then we went to Park 2 of 3.

It's a pretty cool park designed as a Ninja castle.

We were really impressed how the veteran students have grown and developed since last year.

They are able to use the flying fox without the teachers help.

Field Trip 

We got to play in 3 parks today..

The 1st was in the picnic area beside the zoo.

Year 5 (#年長 ) went on an adventure with teacher, while the rest waited.

When they came back they had brought back some pinecones to share with everyone.

So cute.

Unfortunately because the Satsuki Yama zoo was closed we decided to have a look around.

We walked up into Ikeda Shrine #伊居太神社 it was a beautiful shrine and we got to see lots of Autumn leaves #紅葉 

Ikeda city definitely has a lot of history.

Members of our EPT class building a construction of some sort .

The great part is they are of course, all speaking together in English.

This was the dream we had when we first started Little Lorikeets.

A place where children could come back after school and meet their English speaking friends.

Some parents in the past who obviously didn't stay would say oh we want to go to normal japanese kindergarten for the social aspect ( #社会的 ). 

We understand that but when the children leave that kindergarten they usually don't go to the same primary schools anyway. 

So what happened to those kindergarten friends anyway?

Little Lorikeets being a hub for graduates at different elementary schools allows the students to continue those friendships. All the while speaking and growing their English abilities and understanding.

It's that time of the year again for Little Lorikeets.

Santa Claus will be coming to say hello and give the students a gift for the school.

The students also get to ask Santa some questions, have a dance with Santa.

Today we had the Munchkins visit.

Giving mum and dad a 2 hour break 😅 they got to play with #LittleLorikeets members and participate in a lesson and story time.

A great alternative to regular kindergartens #幼稚園プレ 

Giving there kids the opportunities they never had, forward thinking parents are great 👍.

Today was one of our Munchkin members first day in daycare.

Coming into school with the uniform on, a little bit teary eyed 🥲. But soon enough was playing and have fun.

It will take a few days to get use to the full day schedule but after that it will be easy.

The first hurdle crossed already because of the Munchkin class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Ahh snack time for the daycare students and or extension time kinder kids.

Then some more playtime with the Afternoon After-school students who come to Little Lorikeets after attending their elementary schools.

That was one of the original visions when we made Little Lorikeets, to create an environment where students could keep attending well after graduation.

Making friends with whom you can continue to have English conversations is a great opportunity.

Munchkin Time 28th November 

Only two members came to class today.

A little bit of tears, a bit tired from being sick this week.

By the end though all good.

Actually these two members are confirmed to join Little Lorikeets kindergarten in 2025 school year 😁

Parents are hearing good things about Little Lorikeets from their friends, acquaintances and joining.

Next years intake is almost full, but we are still looking for year 2 members (starting early is much better)

Today only one Early Bird so far. From 8.30 more well come.

Playing with the kitchen today and making a platter of food for the Teacher 😋 

Starting at 8.00 our daycare ( #保育園 ) service is available. And runs through until 18.30. And there is of course an extension service ( #延長料金 ) for those rare times it's needed.

Today we had our online parents day meeting.

The kids were great and really were excited about mum and dad watching.

Unfortunately half way in the computer we were using died so we had to quickly switch to using a smart phone.

After a bit of delay we continued the meeting and actually finished up taking a little bit longer than we would have because we had to make a new link (40 min time limit on free account's).

Sorry to all the parents for the technical difficulties 🙏 

Anyway let's look forward to the next meeting with some fail safe processes implemented.
